The experience in brief

The children will be split into teams and provided with helmets and a map of the area, just like real archaeologists. By solving riddles and puzzles, they will follow a path that leads to the protected archaeological area. They will gain an understanding of the site by combining the clues that they discover during the practical activity with the explanations of the archaeologist, who will then act as tour guide after the treasure hunt.

AIMS

– learn how to interpret an archaeological site through gameplay

– learn about the urban development of the Aurora district, from late antiquity to the modern day

– develop map-reading and analytical skills
